º State Environment Planning Policy
(Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008
Notes on State Environment Act and how it ties in with the current National Construction Code.
Please note that this Act ties in with, and must be used, when trying to interpret the Building Code Of Australia. The Building Code Of Australia on its own does not provide all the rules and regulations you are required to follow when conducting building works or repairs.
Building matters were dealt with by local Councils prior to 2008 with a similar Act and they did differ. The State Government has now taken over and created the above linked Act and local Councils no longer govern the rules and regulations with regard to repairs and building requirements and compliance of same.
Please note the State Environment Planning Policy is amended on a regular basis.
Please call your local Council or
the Office Of Fair Trading.
